Video Production for Bates Restaurants Website

Bates Restaurant in Rathdrum Co Wicklow have gotten a lovely video made for their website by locally based web designers Cada Media Ltd who are based just outside Wicklow in Gorey.

Ramona Farrelly Photography Exhibition

‘In Waiting’
Our favourite wicklow photographer Ramona farrelly will be exhibiting a range of photographs based on La Touche Hotel at Brightlife Studios in Greystones. Ramona is part of the popular team that bring you Greystones Theatre and is a rather cool chick . I am willing to bet that this will be an exhibiton to put on your to do list this July / August. And YOU can also get involved by sending in your memories of La Touche Hotel to Brightlife studios!

We wish Ramona the best of luck and fun at the opening night Ramona and will do our utmost to get down to visit ourselves!
As for ourselves, we my sister used to sing there with a band called Rythm Culture and boy did we have some fun nights- I especially remeber one summer night with everyone ( 6 people!!) bundling into a twin room with a balcony and having such a laugh till the small hours! Now Now , take your minds outta the gutter peeps! ahh good times!

Walk The Wicklow Way in September with HilltopTreks.

The Wicklow Way takes a North to South directions right through the whole County of Wicklow and manages to cover wonderful parts of the County that are very suited for walkers.

The Trail does not cover very high ground and goes around rather than over most the mountains along it’s path.

The highest point on the Wicklow Way is White Hill which is just 635m. The length of The Wicklow Way is 128km and is broken into many stages for the best enjoyment of it.

The walk is broken up into stages over 2 days Sat and Sun during the weekends in Sept.

If you wish to stay over on the Saturday of the walk suggested accommodation will be provided and your luggage will be forwarded for you.

The Avoca Market is an indoor market that takes place on the last Saturday of every month in the Avoca Community Hall, Wicklow.

Here at The Wicklow Way of living  we were recently sent an urgent appeal by an actor looking for a few nights per week lodging in Bray Co Wicklow.

He has been offered and has secured extra work in the current filming of the Tudors series, however his plans to move to Bray fell through and he is now urgently looking for some accommodation.

These walks are organised with single people in mind who enjoy the great outdoors and walking.

Rainy day Walks in County Wicklow For all the Family

well it may be a damp drizzly day today but thats no reason not to pull on your anorak, walkign trousers  and walking boots and head out for a nice brisk stroll anyway.

The best part will be the feeling of satisfaction and clear head as you come back home or better still treat yourself to a nice bowl of soup or seafood chowder by a log fire in one of wicklows gorgeous bars – for eg the hotel in Laragh after walking round Glendalough,or the lovely river walk in Clara Vale – see photos below, Glenmalure lodge, Enniskerry after powerscourt, jacobs well Rathdrum after a stroll around gorgeous Avondale or indeed Devils Glen in Ashford (see photos ) and a visit to Chester Beattys ( lovely log fire).

The beauty of wooded walks is that you don’t really get wet! Avondale is ideal for this weather,.

Some artists from Kilmantin Gallery including our regular local wicklow artisit Helen Pullen, – and hopefully other artists will be selling their wares on the railings around the Halpin Memorial this weekend as part of the Flead. The Pavilion theatre have an exciting opportunity for young people interested in acting:

OpenStagers Summer Camp
Pavilion Theatre, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown’s municipal theatre, is looking for young people to be part of a year-long project of performance, work experience and theatre-going which gives young people an opportunity to:
·         create their own performance
·         see and critique top quality theatre and dance
·         experience life in a working theatre

What do you need to be an OpenStager?
·         an age between 12 & 17
·         a passion for creativity
·         an interest in theatre performance
·         a commitment to people
·         a sense of fun

The initial programme OpenStagers Summer Camp runs from Tuesday 4th to Friday 14th August from 10am to 4pm Pavilion Theatre, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, and will feature a two week crash course in Youth Theatre facilitated by experienced professionals, culminating in a performance on the Pavilion stage!

Wicklow Walks :: Yoga Glendalough and Enniskerry Full Moon Night Walks

The ever popular Terry and Hilltop Treks have some fun walks coming up again this July with a moonlight walk meeting in Enniskerry Wicklow, and another Yoga walk in Glendalough Wicklow.

The Full Moon taking place this Tuesday 7^th of July and the Yoga Walk will be taking place on the 18^th.

There will also be guided 1 day walks in Wicklow each Sunday throughout July.

Terry is an experienced guide and you can be sure of a chilled out and relaxed walk in the beautiful Wicklow mountains.
