WORKSHOP: Using Homeopathic Remedies for people with flu-type symptoms

If you feel it would be helpful to have a kit of specific Homeopathic flu Remedies for use at home and clear guidance on which to use for each combination of flu symptoms, then this workshop is for you.

Part 1:
Instruction on using Homeopathy at Home, when to prescribe and when to wait
Part 2 : Full details on 15 flu remedies and indicators for use

A 2 evening workshop Tues 8th September (part 1) and Wed 9th September (part 2) 7pm-930pm

A kit of specific flu remedies will be available for those who wish to have the remedies at home .   Backup assistance is also provided by appointment, telephone or via our Drop-In Clinic on Greystones main street (opposite the Happy Pear).

Listening to public concerns about potential widespread flu led me to prepare this workshop.  Homeopathy has been used with much success in influenza and other epidemics for 200 years.  It was used significantly in the 1918 global flu pandemic. Today Homeopaths worldwide are actively sharing updated information about which remedies are assisting people with flu symptoms.

Homeopathy is system of medicine that uses natural substances to stimulate the body’s own healing ability. It can be used alone or in conjunction with other medication.

great review from Tom Doorley Today

Woof! Nice to see bates Restaurant rathdrum featured in the Irish times today. Tom Doorley paid a visit there recently and has written how much he enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service not to mention the spiffing food!

As any of our regulars know I just love to wolf down some Bates Dinner whenever I get the chance and chef Marino Monterisi has been more than obliging in giving my human a few tasty morsels to get my nose stuck into on more than one occasion.( see below heh heh)

go bates. ps. give a dog a bone eh?

skippyhappyMy human roz has been doing my work for far too long now ( hear hear ~ roz)  as I was recovering from my accident, however, now I am back with a woofgence and have decided to start a featured wicklow location every week.

So this week we are featuring the ever popular Glendalough!:

Glendalough-Glen Dha Loch – (glen of two lakes) Wicklow
Woof!- Visiting Glendalough, Wicklow:
Glendalough (meaning glen of two lakes)- often mispelt glendaloch is part of the Wicklow Mountains National Park and is the most visited part of that park.

Its’ main attractions are the stunning scenery of this glacial valley and the monastic site of St Kevin which rests here. Many tourists find it hard to spell usually coming out with something like glendarlok! And who can blame them?

Accommodation in the area is plentiful with a well run hostel, hotels, b&b’s and guesthouses all catering to the needs of the many tourists and visitors who flock to this attraction throughout the year.
There is a bustling Farmers Market held in the car park of the Brockagh resource centre (Laragh) every 2nd Sunday

Popular BBC Programme ” Coast” features Wicklow Head and Bray Head

We were delighted to see Wicklow featured on the BBC Programme ” Coast” tonight. They followed irelands Coastline from Cork up to Dublin passing thru the Wexford Slobs ( well recommended for a family day out) and onto Wicklow Head. Wicklow Head is home to many species of bird including nesting kittywakes, gulls, pergrine falcons and much more. There is even a naturally carved stone “chair” that yours truly likes to sit in and reflect overlooking the magnificent view of the sea below.

COAST also visited Bray head and featured the ” hell of a ride” that is the railway journey around the head on the DART. Bray head is home to an interesting historic tale of engineering genius!!

For more details on the COAST programme and to obtain a booklet on how to explore your local coast in an adventurous and fun visit www.bbb.co.uk/coast

Muddy Singles Event to Set Pulses Racing at Mallow

The team behind Muddy Matches, the online dating site for country-minded or ‘muddy’ people, are to host a singles event at Cork Racecourse.

Mŭ´dd|ў adj. any person who loves the countryside and is not afraid of a bit of mud.

The event will take place from 1.30pm on Saturday 22nd August 2009 at Cork Racecourse, Mallow and will see a wide range of single country people coming together from across the country to enjoy a good day out at the races and see if they hit it off.

Tickets cost €80 and include premium-level admission, race card, lunch, a private room (with full cash bar, tote facilities and viewing balcony overlooking the track) and a week’s subscription to Muddy Matches.

“The idea behind our muddy singles events”, says company co-founder Lucy Reeves, “is to give single country-minded people an opportunity to meet each other in more relaxed environments whilst safe in the knowledge that, being a ‘muddy’ event, they will automatically have something in common with the other guests.”

Lucy and her sister Emma launched the website in the UK in 2007, opening their doors to Irish members in the summer of 2008.  They have already hosted a number of events in Ireland this year, including a guided walk and dinner in the Glendalough region and a charity speed dating night in Borris, Co. Carlow.
