Wicklow walk is postponed until sat due to storms

Terry from Hilltop treks was on to us to let us knwo that the upcoming walk in enniskerry has been postponed.. see below:

Due to the storms today in Wicklow which are supposed the be the same if not worse tomorrow I have decided to reschedule the Festive Christmas walk until Saturday, when the weather looks a lot brighter.

Hopefully this still suits you and looking forward to seeing you at the Crone Wood Carpark at 11am Saturday 2^nd Jan 2010.

Directions from Enniskerry: Follow the directions for The Powerscourt Waterfall then when at the entrance stay on the road you are on for a further 3 Km.

Skippy the dog raids again

Our regular readers know of skippy the dogs bad food stealing habits – there was the infamous case of the Austrian ham and the strange case of the chicken fillets but today skippy has struck again by managing to open the fridge and rob a whole bar of expensive lindt orange chocolate!! No wonder he legged it straight out when I came in!

Chocolate is in fact very bad for dogs – it can even cause doggy death- but his little scamp seems to be immune – he eats anything from tomatoes to eggs, meat and apples!!

ho hum, no christmas treats for him tonight!

Wicklow Bands get together in Leitrim Lounge

We love music here at the wicklow way and are delighted to see the initiative taken by a group of music lovers who have taken it upon themselves to set up a monthly live band night in the Leitrim Lounge on the seafront of Wicklow Town.

The night in question is called the Monkey Club and runs again on December 23rd. The music night is proving very popular with wicklow music fans and all those interested in gigging and showcasign their band are encouraged to pop by and support the nights.

Apparently you can find them on facebook but we had a good search to no avail.. so if anyone has their facebook url could you pass it on to us ?
