Full Moon Walk Enniskerry proves popular

Last night 40 plus hill walkers including yours truly, set off with Terry and the guides from Hilltop Treks for their Full Moon walk to Prince Williams Seat in Enniskerry County Wicklow.

We met a the clock tower in Enniskerry village and due to the enormous volume of walkers, some took the mini bus whilst the rest of us drove ourselves up to the starting point from where we all set off.

The walk was a good to moderate walk  in beautfiul moonlit surroundings. We could see as far as Glencullen (home to Johnnie Foxes) and later Dun laoghaire harbour!!

I had a great time catching up with my old pal Linda and also enjoyed chats about the snow ( yes, there was snow up there!!) with some of the other walkers in the group including helpful Cathal who was one of the guides and constantly checking in on us to see if we were ok.

Terry also had some great informtaion about the cycle of the moon and how it affects our planet plus a general insight into the stars and their positions on the night! well done Terry!

It is important to wear the right clothing of course so if your intending to do a walk like this check out the advice on clothing and so on here from Wicklow Mountains National Park website:

Reiki from Sole to Soul in Wicklow

I recently attended my first ever Reiki session in Wicklow town at Sole to Soul Therapies. I have read a bit about Reiki and, indeed as I mentioned in a previous wicklow way post about reiki, I had heard some interesting stories about its effects on friends of mine.

Sole to Soul Therapies Wicklow, Reiki and Reflexology, offered me a session of my choice to see for myself what it is like, so off I went yesterday evening for my first ever Reiki session.

Orla of Sole to Soul Therapies, explained the process of Reiki  both from a mental and physical aspect as in she told me a summary of Reikis’ aims and what it is based upon, then also told me in advance what would physically happen, what she would be doing and thus I knew what to expect before we began. No removal of clothes for example for those who may have ben wondering….

I have had many massages in my time including Indian Head Massage and I also do a bit of Yoga, and so I have experienced the sometimes suprising emotional and physical benefits that any relaxation techniques can bring.

Reiki was not unlike having a massage- yet she never touched me!

How Bizzare you may say…

When you consider the fact that she is working with my energy and relocating it to where I need it most , it may not seem so bizarre. I found myself thinking of a great many things like dreaming, although  I was fully concious at all times.

Afterwards we had a chat and Orla advised me to drink plenty of water and see how I felt the following day as often poeple can experience effects then if not during a reiki session.

I left feeling happy and peaceful, and ‘balanced’.

The following day (today) I have been totally optomisitc and smiling , which in fairness I usually am, but this time my collegues’ extreme stress (he has a lot on his plate) did not effect me – I was protected as it were by a ‘bubble’ of calm. Orla had mentioned this often happens.

I also noticed how full of happiness I felt (boyfriend loving this ha ha ) and definately the strange sensation of slightly tired shoulders which I often feel after a back massage- yet again, I must point out that at no time did Orla physically touch me!

I will be attending more reiki to find out why my feet are so ‘cold’ although I have an inkling that it relates to my sports ambitions!

I would certainly recommend anyone who is stressed, looking for answers or just needing to ‘find themselves’ to try Reiki as I believe it could well be the path that leads to enlightnment. There is certainly nothing to lose and everything to gain!
