features from the 1870’s when it was lived in by Captain Robert Halpin -
our very own Wicklow Town hero. He was a pioneer of his time and he laid
telegraphic cable around the globe.

On Sunday we went to see the round ireland yacht race start off and my friend Mary took some lovely pics from our view on the Wicklow head.

Guided Walk and Evening Meal for Singles July 10th
Walk in Enniskerry for Singles.
The walks are organised for like minded single people who enjoy the great outdoors and some fresh air. They also provide the ideal event for them to meet someone new, as walking can be an excellent, fun and informal way to meet new people.
Walking Event:

Great Places to Eat in Wicklow Town
Last night I met up with some friends in Wicklow Towns new Cafe / Restaurant:
World Wide Kitchen ( WWK) .
A relaxing friendly place that seats 20 people WWK Wicklow offers a gorgeous tasty menu where you can have a something small or large and a nice bottle of wine too! For example myself and my friend shared a Mixed Board of Cheese, Salami and Ham (€9.50), and some freshly baked Olive Bread ( €3.75) washed down with a nice chilled bottle of the House White wine , total bill was under 35 euro for the two of us – not bad eh?
The food was gorgeous with really nice meats and cheeses and a lovely bit of salad leaves and dressing in the middle to dip the bread into.
I am told that the local wicklow teenagers are also mad about this place with many of them stopping by for take aways of wraps, fish and chips, Pasta dishes, Pork ribs and more!
They also serve Delicious Irish Made Mauds Ice Cream. In fact the ethos behind World Wide Kitchen is a very admirable one – They keep it Local!
They source their meats from Cullens Butchers ( Wicklow), Wine from The Wicklow Wine Company, Vegetables from Woodroofes (Wicklow) and Italian produce from Italicatessan in Newtown (Wicklow). Well done guys!

Muddy matches Singles Adventure Activity Weekend 19 & 20 June
Many of you will be familiar with the online dating site www.muddymatches.co.uk with whom we had a wonderful muddy event last year in Glendalough. Well they’re at it again. This time the event is taking place a little further south in the kingdom of Kerry with our friend Nathan Kingerlee of outdoors Ireland.

On route enjoy a healthy picnic lunch as you look across Killarney National Park. Arguably some of the most impressive scenery Ireland has to offer.
On Saturday evening, enjoy a meal in the restaurant of the Randles Court Hotel, where you will be staying, whilst sharing stories and jokes from your day. There will also be the opportunity to head into Killarney after dinner to soak up some of the local atmosphere.
Sunday will be more relaxed where you spend the morning kayaking on the beautiful waters of the lakes of Killarney before concluding the weekend with refreshments at the hotel.

InHouse Beauty Mobile Beauty Therapist Rathdrum Co Wicklow
Katherine Martin of InHouse Beauty Rathdrum offered to give me eyelash extensions. as she reckoned they’d “look amazing” on me! As someone with quite long eyelashes anyway, it was not something I had considered before- But I was up for “looking amazing” lol, So on Wednesday evening I headed up to inhousebeauty.com in Rathdrum Co Wicklow ( although normally Katherine will go to you so you can have the experience in the comfort of your own home / holiday home/ mobile home etc..) to try it out.
Katherine first ran through the do’s and don’ts of eyelash extension care then proceeded to talk me through the experience. I was relieved to discover that there is no pain involved, however It should be noted that the procedure is time consuming as she is basically adding an eyelash extension to each single eyelash you have – so a timeline of 2 hours is the norm.
We chatted away during the procedure and I was interested to learn of her pamper parties that she has been holding.
These are aimed at any groups of over 6 people from early teens upwards and can involve treatments such as
- glitter makeup,
- pedicures,
- manicures,
- eyelash extensions,
- facials,
- massages, and so on.
Katherine willl usually team up with another local beautician Celine Moreton, in order to facilitate the group and they bring along a bottle of sparkling wine and some juicy strawberries for everyone to enjoy.

If you enjoy walking in the great outdoors and have often thought about getting some photography lessons and improving your camera skills so you catch that wonderful sunset, then this is the walk for you.

As the name suggests this is a hands on outdoors experience 1 day basic photography course with a guided walk. You will learn basics of Landscape photography.
