The Wicklow Way Ireland & BBC Countryfile

Ooooh, we were delighted to hear the lovely Julia Bradbury mentioning the upcoming BBC Countryfile Programme featuring The Wicklow Way next week Nov 21st .

The BBC’s Countryfile show (which gains approx 9 million viewers per show) is doing a feature on JB Malone of The Wicklow Way Fame and have been over in Ireland filming some local businesses that we here at TheWicklow Way.com helped put them in touch with.

Their aim was to interview people who owed their business to ‘The Wicklow Way Walking Trail’ and therefore to ‘JB Malone ‘ who, of course created the now famous Wicklow Walking Route.

The business people interviewed include:

• and our very own Sean Byrne of Lough Dan House in Roundwood.

We are looking forward to seeing the show next Sunday and feedback from the BBC Countryfile’s director is that it looks amazing as the weather was fabulous and the interviewees were great!

Well done to everyone involved, this is a wonderful opportunity for Wicklow to showcase it’s Tourism Attractions to the UK Market which accounts for two thirds of Irelands Tourism!!
