The lovely atmospheric Wicklow Heather Restaurant in Laragh is holding a New Years Eve party tomorrow with dinner, music and a complimentary glass of champagne at midnight for only €30 pp.

Planes Trains and Automobiles

Well my Wicklow friends, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas, and if, like me you have been on planes, cars and all sorts then I do hope you are now having time to chill out and maybe even enjoy some Christmas sales in Wicklow and elsewhere.

Thinking that planes and cars were enough today I had to get the train from Arklow to Greystones and I must say, its’ been a while since I travelled by train and I had forgotten what a lovely scenic route this is.

Leaving Arklow the train passes through the vale of Avoca, Lots of pheasants on Woodenbridge Golf Course, Along the Avonmore River and through Avondale Park in Rathdrum then the scenery switches from woodland to beach with views of the wicklow coastline all the way to Greystones.  A lovely trip!

Hollywood Notes Dec 20th 2010

Senior Citizens
The Senior Citizens wish to thank Marie and her Committee for an excellent meal and enjoyable evening last Thursday in the Hollywood Inn.

Weekly Bingo
The last Bingo before Christmas is on Thursday Dec 23rdth . Turkeys and Hams still to be won at this Bingo.

Lotto Draw
Lotto Draw takes place this Thursday evening during Bingo in the Hollywood Centre. Jackpot €6,600. Good Luck to all.

Christmas Whist
Christmas Whist in the Hollywood Centre on Monday December 20th at 8.30pm. all are welcome.

Parish Raffle
Many thanks to all who supported the Annual Parish Raffle , and congratulations and thanks to the committee and to Santa. The raffle made a profit of €1635.80. This was down almost €500 on last year, but seeing the weather and the present economy, it was a great success. The visit of Santa never makes a profit but it is a great event for the children and therefore well worthwhile.

Christmas Masses
Christmas Eve: 6.00 and 9.00pm. Christmas Day: 9.00 and 11.30am. No evening mass on Christmas Day. Sunday Masses as usual on St Stephen’s Day at 8.30 and 11.30am.

St Vincent De Paul
The St Vincent De Paul thank everyone who supported annual appeal.

The Hollywood Centre wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
