MUSIC LESSONS IN DUNLAVIN

West Wicklow Music will be recommencing Violin and Cello lessons towards the end of January.

They are held in Dunlavin National School on Saturdays and are open to all children between the ages of 5 and 18 in West Wicklow or east Kildare area.

All levels are catered for and we have highly qualified and experienced teachers. Lessons are for 30 minutes and cost €5 per lesson, payable per term in advance, maximum 3 children per class.

Instruments are available for rent @ €30 per year. Limited places available. Contact Lisa Byrne on 087-6301997 between 4 and 6 pm Monday to Friday.

Dates to Remember

Area Family Masses, Monday Feb 28th, Tuesday March 1st, Wednesday March 2nd. All Masses will be celebrated in the evening , probably 7.30pm.

First Holy Communion, Saturday 14th May.

Pilgrimage to Mass Rock on Sunday 29th May.

Cemetary Sunday on 12th June at 3.30pm.

Hollywood Sports and Field Day on Sunday 10th July.

Lent

It is proposed to have one evening Mass per week during Lent. That being so, please consider which days would suit best, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, at 7.30pm or 8pm. It is also proposed to have Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings at 7.30pm or 8.00pm.

Lotto Draw

The numbers drawn in last week’s Lotto Draw were: 9,14,17,18. No Winner.

School Enrolment

Enrolment forms are now available in the school office for parents who wish to enrol their child for September 2011 in Scoil Chaoimhin Naofa Hollywood.

Enrolment will take place on Monday 7th, Wednesday 9th and Friday 11th March 2011 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

A copy of the child’s Birth Certificate must be furnished. Where a child has been Baptised outside the Parish ( Hollywood/Ballymore Eustace) a copy of their Baptismal Certificate must also be furnished.

Hip Hop

Classes in Hip Hop in the Hollywood Centre every Friday afternoon . Age 4-10yrs from 4-5pm and 10yrs and up from 5-6pm. There are some places available.

Cake Sale

The St. Valentine’s Cake Sale is taking place in the Hollywood Centre, after Masses on the 12th and 13th of February. All proceeds go to Hollywood National School

Pilates

Pilates Classes started back in the Hollywood Centre on Tuesday Jan 18th to run for 6 Weeks. There are still some places available.

Hollywood in the Rare Old Times

How would you like to see and celebrate Hollywood as it was in the 1950’s or before. A meeting will be held in the Community Centre on Monday 7th February at 8pm.

Every group in the community is invited to send along two representatives to discuss the possibility of a festival in August. The aim of the Festival is to roll back time and celebrate what we have inherited.

Have you ever been at a Trashing? Have you ever come to Mass in a Horse and Cart? Have you ever seen an old time Sheep Fair? What was it all like in those days? Why not join in the planning and invite the world to see Hollywood before it became our ‘Hollywood’.

ST BRIGID’S DAY PRAYERS

Kilcoole Primary School hosted a prayer service to celebrate St. Brigid’s day , and to mark the retirement of teacher, Mrs Lauren Carroll.

Wicklow Walk for Chernobyl Charity

Wicklow Walk in aid of Chernobyl Children’s Trust commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster.

• Saturday 5th March 2011 @ 11am.

• 7km – Maulin Mountain loop walk from Crone Woods.

Those of you who follow us reguarly will know that a friend of mine had a leaving party recently and one thing I wanted to do for her was get a large A0 size poster done up in black and white with pics of her and space for friends to leave messages, so I sent out quote requests to a number of wicklow printers.
