Well done to Fiona  of Fionas Massage Therapies based in Ashford Co Wicklow who has just received news that she has been elected President of The Irish Massage Therapists Association.

Not only that Melanie Killion the Vice President is also from Co. Wicklow. Isn’t that just brilliant for the county.

Gum shields offer for all G.A.A footballers:

Blessington Dental is delighted to hear that the G.A.A. is considering introducing the compulsory wearing of dental protection on a phased basis over the coming year.

A custom made properly fitting gumshield can help prevent serious dental injuries by protecting the teeth from being hit by external objects, preventing the lower jaw from being slammed against the upper jaw and by keeping soft tissue away from teeth preventing laceration of lips and cheeks.

The G.A.A. are said to be keen to bring in the wearing of gumshields to reduce the mounting costs of insurance payouts.

At Blessington Dental we think this is a great step forward and we are offering all G.A.A. players an exciting deal.

We will do a free dental exam with every gumshield we make. The cost of the gumshield is €60 for a single colour and €65 for two colours.

Each shield will have the players name on it.Contact the practice (contact details below) to make an appointment.

New Venue launches in Wicklow this Friday

Wicklow in Bid for Miss Universe Title

Co. Wicklow is hoping to make global news by clinching the Miss Universe title this year.   Wicklow’s newest club and Cocktail bar – the Venue at the Grand Hotel Wicklow - is launching a huge campaign fronted by former Miss World Rosanna Davison to find the right girl to represent Wicklow and hopefully Ireland in the 2011 contest.

Management at the Venue nightclub say they are confident Wicklow can do it.  “We are confident that we can find the right Wicklow girl to represent us on a global stage.  We will be driving a massive publicity campaign so that every Wicklow girl who has dreams of succeeding in the modelling world knows about it.”

Top Irish model and Miss Universe Ireland organiser, Andrea Roche says she is expecting great things from the Venue Miss Universe.  “The only ever Irish Miss World is from Co. Wicklow.  We are expecting a very high standard from the winner of the Venue Miss Universe”.

This Friday Ireland’s glitterati will descend on the Venue Wicklow for the glittering launch of the Wicklow contest.  Crystal Swing, Gerald Keane and Lisa Murphy, Fair City stars, models, radio and TV presenters and socialites will all be attending the launch of the search for Wicklow’s Miss Universe.

Talent spotters from the Venue will be looking out for potential entrants over the month of April.  A public vote will decide the shortlist after which a panel of expert judges will select the Wicklow representative.

Top Irish designer, Hats by Jean has designed a one of a kind crystal tiara prize for the winner of the Miss Wicklow title.  The Wicklow Miss Universe will also receive luxury beauty products from Butler’s Pharmacy and Gold membership to the Venue.

As part of the prize, the winner will also have her hair done for the national finals by top Wicklow salon SK Hair and make-up by make-up artist to the stars, Sarahmarie Howes.

From Monday 3rd April potential candidates for the Venue Miss Universe Wicklow can download an entry form to the contest from www.grandhotel.ie or pick up an entry from the Venue nightclub.
