Fundraising event for Peter McVerry Trust

The Peter McVerry Trust is a homeless charity working with young people in Dublin. They are holding a fundraising event in Wicklow – Summit Sizzler Wicklow Challenge on 16 July.

A fully guided sponsored climb up Lugnaquilla followed by BBQ in Glenmalure Inn.

All welcome – Registration €25 – sponsorship of €125.

due in coming days. The plan will be on display 4th July to 2nd August

FAMILY FESTIVAL BIG SUCCESS

The family festival at Byrne’s Irish House was a massive success, with sunshine all weekend, and enormous crowds of happy people enjoying excellent live music, children’s entertainment, markets, ambience and fine food.  It looks as if this festival will be an annual event and all at Byrne’s would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported and helped tomake this special celebration possible.

SET DANCING NIGHT

The monthly set dancing night will be held in the Mill Room on Wednesday29th June at 9.00 p.m.

JUNIOR RED CROSS GROUP

Greystones/Delgany Junior Red Cross Group meet every Wednesday in KPS StAnthony’s Building from 7-8p.m. for children of Primary school age,and 8-9p.m. for older students.

GAA CAMP

Kilcoole GAA are hosting VHI Cúl Camp from 25-29 July and recommend it to boys and girls from 6 – 13 years old.  It promises to be a fun filled week with Hurling, Camogie and Gaelic Football.  Book now on www.gaa.ie.

SENIOR CITIZENS CHRISTMAS PARTY FUND

YOGA CLASSES

BINGO

Bingo is held on Monday evenings in St. Patrick’s Hall.  It starts at 8.20p.m. and everyone is welcome.

KILCOOLE COMMUNITY THRIFT SHOP

The shop is located on Penny Lane, off Main Street.  We are open from 11-5Tuesday to Saturday.  We gratefully accept donationsof clean family clothing, books, bric-a-brac and household items.  No electrical items please.  Each month we make a donation to a local group or charity.  Please call in for a browse, and support local initiative.

THRIFT SHOP DONATION

The Thrift Shop made a donation to the Bray Women’s Refuge on Saturday 25thJune.

CONSTITUENCY CLINIC

Simon Harris T.D. hosts a constituency clinic on Thursday evenings(except bank holidays) from 7.00 – 8.00 p.m. in the Mollys.

Hollywood Notes June 27th 2011

The Hollywood Fair

In preparation for the Hollywood Fair, there will be a ‘Work Nite’ every Wednesday evening. Meeting in the Church Car Park at 7.30pm. There is a lot of preparation and cleaning up to be done for the Fair, so if you can give an hour, it would be appreciated. After all it’s our community that will benefit.

  • Hollywood Sports and Field Day on Sunday 10th July.

Hollywood GAA

St Kevins Mini Leagues will re-start in Hollywood on June 25th. Unwanted clothing is being collected to raise funds, contact Brian Keogh. Flag days are coming up on July 2nd and 3rd. Hurling training for U8, U10 and U12 every Tuesday evening in Hollywood at 6.30pm. Cul Camps for Primary School children are fast approaching with the Football taking place in Dunlavin from July 18th to 22nd. Hurling and Camogie taking place in Hollywood from August 15th to 19th. Cul Camp forms are available from the Club. The Club are holding a Table Quiz in Tuttys’ on Saturday July 2nd at 9pm. All are welcome. Thanks to all who helped out with the Blitz on Saturday, it was a great day and the Hollywood Fair Committee were very impressed with the quality of the Scarecrows. Well done to all who entered.

Bingo

Bingo will take place in the Hollywood Centre on Thursday evening at the usual time of 8.30pm. There are 2 JACPKPOTS of €3000 on offer each week, so why not come along and chance you arm, you never know you could WIN!

Sports Day Art Competition

Children of all ages are invited to submit an entry into the Art Competition for the Sports Day. Your entry should include name, age, phone number and the title of your piece. All entries can be submitted into the Community Centre between 10 and 11am on Saturday 2nd July.

Graduation Ceremony

The 6th Class students will graduate from Primary School next Thursday. The Graduation Ceremony will take place during Mass in the School Hall at 9.30am. There won’t be any Mass in the Church that morning. Everyone is welcome to attend the School Mass.

Parish Office

Remember that the Parish Office is open from Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 1.30pm.

Hollywood

The Juniors beat Donard/Glen away last Thursday and play Blessington at home this week. Hard luck to Western Gaels who went down to Kilmac/Enniskerry last Wednesday. Well done to the Wicklow side on their fine win over Sligo on Saturday. Cul Camps for Primary School children are fast approaching with the Football taking place in Dunlavin from July 18th to 22nd and the Hurling/Camogie taking place in Hollywood from August 15th to 19th. Cul Camp forms are available from the Club. There will be a very important Club Meeting on Friday July 1st, in the Clubhouse at 9pm. The Club are also holding a Table Quiz in Tuttys on Saturday, July 2nd at 9pm.
