Recent Expo at Grand Hotel Wicklow

The recent Expo at the Grand Hotel in Wicklow Town did not alas attract so many members of the public, however, many local business people did turn up and most of us made some good new networking connections so the day still proved  a success.

The atmosphere was very friendly and local chef Paul Smith of An Ceilteach Mistíuíl Teoranta (The Mystic Celt) did a really interesting cookery demonstration that demonstrated his skills at such gourmet delights as seaweed biscuits with rabbit followed by Handmade chocolates and strawberries dipped in chocolate assisted by my very own sister Linda ( she just LOVES chocolate).

Our main promotion of the day was our new partnership with Explore Wicklow – a new mobile app that you can download straight to your smartphone which features, well , pretty much everything you need to know, whether your coming to visit or live in Co Wicklow Ireland. ..

More on this to follow, but if you would be interested in getting added to this wonderful new APP then contact us today :

Blessington Dental Practice To Drown Out Drill

At Blessington Dental our patients often comment on how the noise of the drill is the bit they hate the most.

To combat this we are compiling a playlist for patients to listen to while we work. We have two categories, ‘Loud and Proud’ to drown out the noise and ‘Chilled out and Calm’ to soothe the nerves.

Our patients have been posting their personal preferences on Facebook (www.Facebook.com/blessingtondental).

Adele and James Blunt have been popular and our personal favourite is AC/DC’s Highway to hell.

Log on and let us know your thoughts.

MossOff – The chemical-free way to get rid of moss and algae

MossOff is a brand new and completely natural product that will get rid of moss and algae from any surface, anywhere, any time.

Developed right here in Ireland, MossOff works by covering the moss in an invisible, biodegradable micro-coating that prevents it from drawing moisture from the air and, as moss has no roots, it dies. That’s why MossOff is completely harmless to other plants and to kids, lawns and animals.

Use the unbeatable green power of MossOff wherever you see moss or algae – on drives, paths, wooden decks, steps, patios, patio furniture, walls, Astroturf, windows, kennels, fences, boats, glasshouses, roofs, BBQ covers, awnings, etc. To get rid of the moss in your lawn, use MossOff LawnCare.

MossOff works all year round. Try it RIGHT NOW.

MossOff is a completely natural product available in a ready-to-use spray or a super concentrate for treating large areas.

Kills moss and algae on EVERYTHING, including:

  • Grass
  • Paving
  • Decks
  • Artificial Surfaces

MossOff

  • Works FAST
  • LONG-LASTING
  • GREEN technology outperforming chemicals

Wicklow Business Network Launched at Glenview Hotel

ww-network-launch.jpgThere was a great turnout for yesterdays’  launch of the new County Wicklow Business Network at the Glenview Hotel. The new network is an amalgamation as such, of Wicklow CEB and Wicklow Chamber networks.

Sheelagh Daly of Wicklow CEB introduced the event and invited everyone  to stand up one by one and introduce themselves (in a one-liner) afterwhich an interesting talk on marketing and networking was given from Aidan Higgens. He had some very useful tips of how to get the most from a networking opportunity.

There were businesses of all sorts present including Marketing companies, security, graphics, jigsaws for disabled, mobile gates, life coaches, photographers, software engineers, civil engineers, solicitors, geneologists, hotels, bakerys, florists, beauty therapists, accountants, copywriters and more.

People don’t remember what you say, they remember how you made them feel

Pictured below are Denis Fielding (President) Peter Thompson and Pat King of Wicklow Chamber.

New Wicklow Business Network

Don’t forget tomorrow morning is the launch of the NEW Co Wicklow Business Network, if you have not yet confirmed attendance you must do so asap so they can have an idea of numbers in advance.

At the official launch of the ‘County Wicklow Business Network’ on Tuesday 22nd February, commencing at 7am in the Glenview Hotel, the guest speaker will be Aidan Higgins, locally based strategic consultant, mentor and lecturer. He will deliver a presentation entitled ‘Face-to-Face Marketing’ which will stress the importance of the personal touch in business, and value of networking when generating sales, in addition to using technology and social media.  A light buffet breakfast will be served on arrival and the meeting should conclude by 9am.

All County Wicklow based businesses are welcome to attend.  A small attendance fee of €10 per person is payable on the door (this includes breakfast, please bring change).

Those attending do not have to be members of Wicklow Chamber or clients of Wicklow County Enterprise Board to take part, so if you have never been involved in a networking organisation before, now is your ideal opportunity!

The only stipulation is that a business must be up and running (as opposed to at pre-start up planning stage) and be based in County Wicklow to take part.
